The Grief of Heartbreak

Sally Morgan

Dear Friends,

When a relationship ends, it can feel as though you are grieving a person who is still alive. You may wake up expecting to see their name on your phone, reach for memories that are no longer part of your everyday life, or suddenly feel a wave of sadness when you least expect it.

Heartbreak is a genuine emotional loss. Even though the person may still be in the world, the relationship, routines, plans and future you imagined together may have disappeared. You aren’t only missing a person; you may also be mourning the life you thought you were going to share.

This is why heartbreak can feel so much like grief.

When we fall in love, we become emotionally attached. We create memories, establish routines and begin to picture our future around another person. We may imagine holidays together, growing older together or simply having someone beside us through life’s ordinary moments.

When that suddenly changes, it can leave you feeling lost.

You might experience sadness, anger, confusion, loneliness or even relief, sometimes all within the same day. There is no correct way to feel. Your emotions can change from one moment to the next, and that doesn’t mean you are failing to move forwards.

A love reading can sometimes provide a comforting opportunity to explore these emotions which could change your life. When your heart is hurting, you may have lots of questions. Does this person still think about me? Could we reconnect? Is there someone new waiting for me? While no reading can guarantee what the future holds, it can encourage you to reflect on your feelings and what you truly want.

One of the hardest parts of heartbreak is losing your sense of normality. Perhaps you used to message each other every morning, speak before going to sleep or make plans at the weekend. Suddenly, those little rituals disappear.

Your mind needs time to adjust.

This is why you may find yourself thinking about your ex-partner even when you know the relationship has ended. Your heart and your mind don’t always move at the same speed. You may understand something logically while still feeling emotionally attached.

A love reading can help you look at your situation from another perspective and encourage you to listen to your intuition rather than becoming completely overwhelmed by fear or uncertainty.

You may also find yourself going through different stages of grief. There may be denial, anger, sadness and eventually acceptance, but these stages don’t necessarily happen in a neat order. You might feel as though you’ve made progress one day and then find yourself crying over an old photograph the next.

That’s perfectly human.

Try not to judge yourself for still caring. Loving someone deeply doesn’t mean you have to remain stuck in the past. You can honour what the relationship meant to you while still allowing yourself to heal.

A love reading may help you consider what this experience has taught you about your boundaries, your needs and the kind of relationship you want in the future.

Heartbreak can also teach us something incredibly important about ourselves. When we lose a relationship, we sometimes discover strengths we didn’t realise we had. We learn to spend time alone, make decisions for ourselves and rebuild our confidence.

Eventually, the memories that once caused pain may begin to feel softer.

A love reading can be a gentle reminder that your romantic story doesn’t end simply because one chapter has closed. There can still be love, happiness and new experiences ahead.

You don’t have to rush towards another relationship. Give yourself permission to heal properly. Enjoy your own company. Spend time with people who make you smile. Rediscover hobbies and interests that may have been forgotten.

And when you are ready, you can begin to open your heart again. A love reading may offer reassurance during this journey, but remember that the most important relationship you have is the one you have with yourself.

Heartbreak may feel like grief because something meaningful has been lost. But grief can change. With time, compassion and patience, the pain can become part of your story rather than something that defines you.

You will smile again. You will laugh again. And one day, you may look back and realise just how far your heart has travelled. If you need a psychic reading to help you feel more positive and empowered for the future, then speak to my wonderful psychic team today.

Love and light,

Sally xx
